Two islands off Cannes, reachable in about twenty minutes by boat, that seem to belong to another century than the city facing them.

Sainte-Marguerite, wooded and wild, holds the fort where the mysterious Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned. Saint-Honorat, smaller, is still home to a community of Cistercian monks who grow vines and lavender — both islands can be visited in a single day, but each deserves its own crossing.
