Tourrettes-sur-Loup, the city of violets

A medieval village built in a crescent along the edge of a rocky plateau, famous for the violet-growing that has surrounded it since the early 20th century.
The houses, lined up like a continuous rampart, overlook a valley where fields of violets, used in perfumery and confectionery, still grow. The pedestrian old village gathers artists' studios and flower-lined alleys, far from the bustle of the coast.
