Lucéram
A medieval village at 650 metres in the Paillon valley, famous for its Louis Bréa altarpiece and the hundreds of nativity scenes scattered through its lanes each winter.
Built from local grey stone to withstand time, Lucéram unfolds a labyrinth of stepped alleys, pointed doorways and twin windows leading to the Église Sainte-Marguerite, home since 1498 to an altarpiece attributed to Louis Bréa. But it's in winter that the village truly reveals itself: for more than twenty years, several hundred nativity scenes have filled shop windows, vaulted passages, cellars and fountains during the nativity trail, a tradition few visitors to the coast know about outside the season.
